Choral and Sacred Works

Adam Lay Ybounden (1976/2008). A modern setting (unaccompanied SATB) to this Christmas carol (mainly in 7/4 time).

Our Father (1977/2008) Dedicated to the memory of Geoffrey Boulton-Smith. This is a setting of The Lord's Prayer to a theme by Thomas Tallis. Available in two versions; modern or traditional harmonisation. The Protestant coda "For Thine is the Kingdom" may be omitted, without loss of musical effect, for use in Catholic settings.

O Star of the Morning (1982). For SATB choir with obilgato organ accompaniment, this is an original carol in traditional music style, with words by the composer. Unfortunately the words have been lost, but the music-score is available and can be sung just as comfortably to the words of "Away in a Manger".

English Mass No 1 (1974). A modern composition for SSA choir with obligato organ accompaniment, this is in the tradition of an liturgical (ie sung in church) mass, but can also be performed in a concert. Comprises 4 short movements.

English Mass No 2 (1975). As English Mass No 1, but with an additional "Proclamation of Faith" movement.

The Primrose (1974)  A pastiche madrigal for unaccompanied SATB choir, set to the sixteenth century love poem of Robert Herrick. This work is currently unavailable.
